Flat Feet

Flat feet  or pronated feet are a common concern, many feel they are one of the main causes of injury of the lower limb. The age of the patient as well as degree of pronation must be assessed before undertaking treatment. Although flat feet are often seen as a bad thing they are very common, with the majority of the population having a foot that flattens upon walking. In fact high arches are more likely to lead to problems than flat feet, so careful assessment and treatment is needed.


A bunion is deformity of the big toe which develops when it deviates towards the smaller toes. They are more frequently seen in females as they tend to wear narrower footwear. In some instances they can become painful. Initial treatment of bunions involves conservative intervention however failing this surgery may then be considered.
